Federal Rotational Cyber Workforce Program
Federal Rotational Cyber Workforce Program
This Government-wide program provides opportunities for employees performing information technology (IT), cybersecurity, and cyber-related functions to apply for and serve in rotational assignments (or details) at agencies outside of their home agency. These non-reimbursable details last from six months to one year and are advertised on Open Opportunities. The program helps Federal agencies continue to enhance their cyber workforce by developing critical cyber skills and creating environments where employees have ongoing learning and development opportunities.

Workforce Planning for the Cybersecurity Workforce
The Federal Cybersecurity Workforce Assessment Act of 2015 (Act) calls upon the Federal Government to conduct workforce planning for its cyber workforce.
Specifically, the Act requires agencies to:
- Identify and code positions with information technology, cybersecurity, and other cyber-related functions using the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) Framework; and
- Identify cybersecurity work roles of critical need and report on them annually through 2022.
