Employee Relations
Employee Relations at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) provides guidance and information to Federal government agencies on the statutes, case law, and regulations for taking conduct and performance based actions. This office:
- Advises the Director of OPM on exercising the statutory authority to intervene (7701 (d) (1)) or seek reconsideration (7703 (d)) of erroneous third-party decisions
- Develops, implements, and communicates government-wide regulations on adverse actions and employee relations policy
- Provides information on how to take supportable performance-based actions
- Facilitates an interagency network of employee relations managers at the department level that works to identify and address the needs of the Federal employee relations community
- Hosts employee relations presentations throughout the year with speakers and topics of importance to the Federal human resource community
- Provides information on appeals and alternative dispute resolution
