NEWS: Fehrer Assumes Role as New FPRAC Chairman
WASHINGTON, DC - The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) has announced that Douglas Fehrer will assume the role of chairman for the Federal Prevailing Rate Advisory Committee (FPRAC), after the retirement of former chairwoman Jill Nelson. Fehrer is making his fourth tour at OPM, serving in 1989-90, 1991-92, and Jan. 2001-Dec. 2001. Fehrer comes with more than thirty years of public and private sector experience, most recently at the U.S.-China Economic & Security Review Commission.
FPRAC studies the prevailing rate system and other matters pertinent to the establishment of prevailing rates under subchapter IV of chapter 53 of title 5, United States Code and advises the Director of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) on the Governmentwide administration of the pay system for blue-collar Federal employees. FPRAC has five management members, five labor members, and one Chairman appointed by the Director of OPM.
