NEWS: FEI celebrates 50 years of service to federal leaders
WASHINGTON, DC - To honor 50 years of educating and developing leaders within the civil service, the Federal Executive Institute (FEI) hosted an anniversary celebration on its campus in Charlottesville, Va., on Oct. 17.
President Lyndon B. Johnson established FEI through Executive Order in October 1968 by in order to offer learning and ongoing leadership development for senior federal leaders. FEI works to improve the performance of government agencies by working with exceptional federal executives who understand their constitutional role, possess a broad corporate view, and take pride in serving the American people.
The anniversary celebration paid tribute to FEI’s contributions to federal leaders’ professional development through the theme, “Honoring the past, celebrating the present, and envisioning the future.”
Over the course of its history, FEI’s core program, Leadership for a Democratic Society (LDS), remains the institute’s foundational program upon which leaders transform government.
The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) is the leader in workforce management for the federal government.
