Statement: OPM extends special solicitation for Hurricane Irma

Acting Director of the Office of Personnel Management Kathy McGettigan announced today the extension of a special solicitation to provide emergency relief to those affected by Hurricane Irma.

This extension includes the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and areas in Florida that have been damaged by Hurricane Irma. The initial special solicitation of federal employees announced last week supported victims of Hurricane Harvey; this extension is related to both storms.

OPM continues to monitor this emergency and assess the need to expand disaster relief that may become necessary in other areas as Hurricane Irma progresses.
