You'll receive a welcome letter in the mail from OPM Retirement Services when we approve your application to start receiving your recurring monthly payment. Your welcome letter includes your claim number. Within a few days of receiving your welcome letter, you'll also get a letter with a one-time passcode to access OPM Services Online if you have been approved to receive interim pay. If not, you will receive your passcode when you have been approved to start receiving your regular recurring monthly payment.
You'll have 30 days to sign in to your online account with your one-time passcode before it expires. Visit the Services Online sign-in page, follow the steps to create a login.gov account, and link the account to your Services Online account using your claim number and passcode. Future logins will only require your login.gov credentials and two-factor authentication option.
If your one-time passcode has expired, you should use our passcode request page or contact us to send you a new one so you can start using your online account.
Once online, you can:
- Get your monthly annuity payment statement
- Get your annual summary of payment
- Verify life insurance enrollment (FEGLI)
- Get your 1099-R tax form
- Change your federal and state income tax withholdings
- View or print your retirement card
- Check your interim retirement pay status
- Start or change direct deposit
- Start or change a checking or savings account allotment
- Start or change allotment to an organization Request a copy of your annuity booklet
- Update your profile and contact information
- Change your mailing address
