Questions and answers

You will receive an email with your results and information about which competency(ies) you should focus on as you prepare to re-take the assessment. You can reference the competency definitions in the Delegated Examining Certification Assessment Information Sheet. Please take advantage of the resources offered through the DECIS and on-the-job training to boost your competencies. Before you attempt the assessment again, you should work with your supervisor, who is also notified of your results, to develop a plan to improve those competency areas identified.

As a reminder, HR staff who fail the assessment are not DE certified until they successfully pass the assessment. In the interim, staff may continue to carry out their DE work only when it is reviewed by a DE-certified individual.

If you fail the assessment one time, you must wait 30 days before registering to take the assessment again.

If you fail the assessment a second time, or more times, you must wait six months before registering to take the assessment again.

Take advantage of this time to complete free and on-the-job training to boost your skills.

When you are ready to take the assessment again, you must follow the process of registering for, and paying for, the assessment again.
