Renew your DE certification by taking, and passing, the DE assessment again.

Follow the same process to register for, pay for, schedule, and take your assessment.

You may retake the assessment up to six months before your certification expires.

  • If you pass, your certification will be extended for the next three-year period, from the date your current DE certification expires (so the three years is not reduced if you take the assessment before your expiration date).
  • If you fail once, you must wait 30 days, then retake the assessment before your certification expires.
  • If you fail a second time and are currently DE certified, your DE certification expires upon second failure and you must pass the assessment to become DE certified. This means your delegated examining work must be fully reviewed by another DE-certified person until you pass your assessment and become certified again.
