Katie Malague

Katie Malague serves as OPM’s Chief Management Officer, overseeing issues related to the management and performance of the agency, including human resources, finance, procurement, technology, and facilities, security, and emergency management.

Prior to joining OPM, Katie held roles in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. Most recently, Katie was the principal deputy for the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Federal Student Aid. She previously served as vice president for government effectiveness with the Partnership for Public Service; director of the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Strategic Planning and Performance Improvement and the agency’s deputy performance improvement officer; a manager with the Office of Management and Budget’s Performance and Personnel Management team; and a manager in Accenture’s federal consulting practice, specializing in change management and organizational performance.

Katie earned her bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University and her master’s degree from Harvard University. She was formerly president of Bucknell’s Alumni Association and chair of the Bucknell Institute for Public Policy Advisory Board; she currently serves on the Bucknell Humanities Center Alumni Advisory Committee. She was elected as a fellow in the National Academy of Public Administration in 2018.
