OPM To Enhance Training and Human Capital Solutions for Federal Employees

OPM's Training and Management Assistance Program Will Continue to Help Maintain an Efficient Federal Workforce

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Director Linda M. Springer today announced training opportunities and human capital solutions assistance for Federal employees and agencies will be improved through an enhanced partnership established through OPM's Training and Management Assistance (TMA) program, enabling TMA's commercial partners to meet increasing agency requirements for customized training and human capital solutions.

"To meet our primary goal of ensuring the Federal government has an effective civilian workforce, we must provide Federal employees with access to training opportunities designed to hone their skills and learn new techniques integral to the success of the 21st Century Federal workforce," Director Springer said. "At the same time, we want to ensure agencies have access to improved human capital solutions to enable them to more efficiently maintain a motivated, successful workforce."

Enhanced partnership includes:

  • Acquisition of new licenses or software for the development and implementation of customized training and human capital solutions;
  • More efficient training implementation, enabling TMA to now provide customized training solutions of any kind;
  • Enhancement of Training Program Management Office (PMO) support to specifically include activities such as course delivery, web-hosting, and production of copies of instructional materials, enabling an agency to turn to TMA for the management and conduct of its entire training/ learning program; and,
  • Enhancement of Human Capital PMO support to include activities such as program analysis, stakeholder coordination, program status reporting, capital asset planning, and management presentations.

The TMA is a leading provider of training assistance and human capital solutions for the Federal government. TMA partners with responsible private firms to provide the assistance desired by each agency. OPM's Center for Talent Services provides the TMA solution and other recruitment, assessment and staffing services to meet Federal human resource needs.
